A strong start in 2010
Written by Hayli Morrison on January 13, 2010 – 3:05 pmThere is an excitement in the business world at the start of each new year. There are new marketing initiatives to launch, press releases to send, copywriting to revamp – and of course, these are all areas in which I’m happy to assist. It’s little wonder that every Christmas, amidst the baking and gift-wrapping, new clients and projects begin to come out of the woodwork – not that I’m complaining!
I am currently enjoying assisting Step One Creative with the PR campaign for Salvation Army of Oswego, NY. This team effort has yielded terrific results, with the Salvation Army’s $1.6 million capital campaign well over halfway to its goal thanks to a generous community. As a result, renovations have finally begun on the newly purchased headquarters and the organization will be able to expand its services.
I am also joining the marketing team for Superior Nut Company, a family-owned manufacturer of fine quality nuts, based in Cambridge, Mass. Their reputation is excellent and their product appears in retail chains across the nation, so this is an exciting challenge for me. The online store for this third-generation business offers everything from gift baskets to bulk orders, often with sales or coupons as well!
Entrepreneur.com continues to offer opportunities for feature writing on small business and marketing topics. This feeds the creative side of my brain and balances out promotional work for clients like GreetingBee.com, Travelers Acceptance and FocalPoint Business and Executive Coach James C. Dekle.
I consider myself fortunate to have the opportunity to telecommute for such wonderful, successful companies. This June will mark my fourth year of freelancing, a decision I’ve never regretted. When you do what you love and love what you do (a great motto for business and life), happiness and success tend to follow, so here’s to a great 2010!

Forbes.com, Fox Business feature GreetingBee.com
Written by Hayli Morrison on November 25, 2009 – 11:23 amGreetingBee.com contracted with me for PR copywriting about six months ago, and it’s encouraging to see how their team-oriented approach has really taken off. The GreetingBee.com organization is outstanding, having designed a truly innovative web-based card design software program. You can design (from template or from scratch), print or even mail unique, high-quality cards directly from the site. These cards are printed with eco-friendly material, every bit as beautiful as a product purchased in a traditional card shop. GreetingBee.com will even let you add a prepaid gift card from retailers like Amazon.com, Target, Home Depot, Shell, or Bass Pro Shop!
We were thrilled to see the latest press release announcing GreetingBee’s holiday line of cards picked up by Forbes.com and Fox Business News. Designed by veteran video game designers, the GreetingBee.com software is fun, innovative and trendy. If you’re looking for photo cards, traditional greeting cards, or something with your own unique stamp this holiday season, check out GreetingBee.com today.

July 2009 Update
Written by Hayli Morrison on July 29, 2009 – 7:17 pmAfter a couple slower summer months that allowed time for visiting family in three states, things are starting to pick up again in the freelance writing world. I am providing copywriting for several startups, including a consulting company called Home Business Success Group and two PR/marketing firms. I am also enjoying writing articles for Entrepreneur.com on issues related to startup businesses.
Altogether it’s been a good summer, concluding with the launch of my new web site. Looking forward to the fall, my 4-year-old son starts preschool three times a week, complete with computer classes and field trips. I will also head into the classroom as a Metro Nashville Schools community education teacher on the subjects of business marketing and magazine writing. Here’s hoping for a mutual learning experience that brings increased revenues for the students!
